No one taught me how to set up a ladder. I remember my first time setting up an extension ladder, my friend and I tried to extend it fully on the ground before trying to raise it up - lets just say that failed. That ladder didn’t have a rope. A kind firefighter suggested in a comment on a different video that I put my leg behind the ladder to brace it while raising it with the rope.
